5 Months Old

I know this is my second post of the day but I wanted to praise Lincoln's many accomplishments in the past 5 months. So here are ten unique things about our baby. Lincoln:
1. weighs in at a whopping 18lb 12oz
2. loves an audience and demands Mom's attention ALL the time
3. will eat anything you put in his mouth
4. will immediately put anything he can find in his mouth and slobber all over it
5. can roll both ways but chooses not to
6. prefers scooting around in a circle until he gets to what he wants
7. still doesn't sleep through the night
8. loves to suck on his toes more than anything else
9. can almost sit up by himself
10. has the greatest laugh of any baby on the planet (but I may be biased)
So Happy 5 Month Birthday to our little boy!!

First Veggies!!

Before

During

After

After much pondering and praying we finally decided to feed Lincoln carrots for his first "real" food. He didn't seem like he loved or hated them- he just kind of found the new taste interesting. So carrots are a go, now we are on allergy watch. If all goes well for the next four or five days we will introduce him to squash- stay tuned!!

Sick Baby

We have been dealing with a little bit of sickness in our home. Lincoln began coughing and sneezing about a week ago, we rushed him to the urgent care and were told that the best way to cure a cold was to do nothing (but we were given a prescription for an inhaler and a steroid just in case). So we waited only to have him begin wheezing two days later. So I freaked out, just a little bit (ok Nate found me in the bathroom crying my eyes out) and my father-in-law made an emergency trip to the pharmacy for the prescriptions and a vaporizer. All is well now though, Lincoln's only symptom left is a slight cough. I would like to say this is the only time our baby will ever be sick but I know this is only the first of many. Here's hoping this is the worst we ever have to deal with.

We're here

So we have arrived in California and life is starting to settle down. We miss all of our friends and family in Chicago but the weather here is partly making up for that. I posted some pictures of Lincoln (mostly for grandma) so scroll down and look through those. Once we are a little less chaotic I will write a nice long blog...

New Highchair

Lincoln has pretty much grown out of his bouncy seat and since he is now eating solids three times a day, we gave in and bought him a high chair. He wasn't so sure about it at first but once he realized he was as tall as all the adults he loved it!

The Super Bowl

I wasn't so happy about the outcome of the game but the shirt was cute...

Such a big boy!

Lincoln truly believes that he is 6 months older than he is. He tries so hard to do things that the big kids do. He recently started sitting up (although he can barely keep his stomach off the floor) and tries to hold his bottle. He is getting so big I can hardly believe this is my little baby!

First Haircut

These pictures are from way long ago but I'm just now getting around to posting them. Lincoln was pretty good through the whole experience but I butchered his hair- that is probably the first and last time I will cut his hair by myself!
